What is RTI?

The Right to Information Act 2005 grants citizens the right to seek information from public authorities. This ensures transparency and accountability in governance and decision-making.

How to File RTI Application

Step 1: Application Submission

Submit your RTI application in writing to the college’s Public Information Officer (PIO) specifying the information you seek.

Step 2: Application Processing

The PIO will process your application within 30 days as per RTI Act provisions.

Step 3: Response

The requested information will be provided in the format available or certified true copies of documents will be provided as applicable.

RTI applications should include:

  • Your name and address
  • Contact number and email
  • Clear description of information sought
  • Application fee (if applicable)

⚖️ Appeals

If you are not satisfied with the response to your RTI application, you may file an appeal with the First Appellate Authority within 30 days of receiving the response.

🚫 Exemptions

Some information may be exempt from disclosure under RTI Act 2005 including:

  • Information affecting national security and sovereignty
  • Personal information of students and employees
  • Confidential information received from third parties
  • Information protected under other laws

💰 Processing Fees

Information provision is largely free. However, charges for certified copies and physical documents may apply as per RTI Act provisions.
