Physical Education & Sports Department of Anna Leela College believes that “Every Winner was once a Beginner”. As an Institute we always try and thrive to achieve something bigger and better which in turn will help our students to go the next level and achieve new heights, not only in the field of Education but also in Sports as well.
The Anna Leela College of Commerce and Economics and Shobha Jayaram Shetty College for BMS, has well equipped Physical Education & Sports Department which Provides facilities for major games like Cricket, Football, Handball, kabaddi at the Chunnabhatti Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Playground and Nehru Nagar Playground, a short distance away from the college. Our College gives importance to maximum participation of the students at intercollegiate events held by University of Mumbai in various Sports and games. Facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, carrom and Chess are also made available to the students. Moreover, the Gymkhana provides well-equipped fitness center to the staff and the students of the Institution. The College maintains an up-to-date first aid box which includes life-saving drugs.
Sports has always been an integral part of our lives and we believe there is a sportsman in each and every individual. Keeping this in mind Bunts Sangha’s Physical Education & Sports Department organises its Annual Inter-department Sports Event & Intramural Competitions. Every year we organize Annual Sports day which provides a platform for each & very student to explore his/her talent in the field of Physical Education & Sports
Our College organizes Yoga and Meditation Sessions for staff and students on a regular basis. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind.
Students have participated in various games like Cricket, Football, Handball, Taekwondo, Tug of War, Kabaddi, etc. at state, national & international levels. Many Students who stand in top eight position at Intercollegiate/ Interuniversity University of Mumbai they would get the benefit of grace of 10 marks under 0.229.as per University of Mumbai circular.

The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 29th August every year. This day marks the birthday ofDhyan Chand,who is one of the most respected legendary figures in Indian and world Hockey.He has won gold medals inOlympics for Indiain the years 1928, 1932 and 1936. He scored over 400 goals in his career, from 1926 to 1948.Hence, on account of NATIONAL SPORTS DAYwe Bunts Sanghas Higher Education Institutions, Physical Education & Sports Dept. celebrated National Sports Day on Thursday 24th August, 2017 by conducting Inter-Department Monsoon Sports Event i.e. Mud Football & Mud Cricket at Nehru Nagar Ground, Kurla (E). All the departments of Higher Education Institutions had participated in this events. The winners of Mud football was BMM department and the winners of Mud Cricket was B.Com department of Anna Leela College.
Inter-Zonal Inter-Collegiate Chess Tournament was conducted at Anna Leela College of Commerce Economics & Shobha Jayaram Shetty College for BMS. On behalf of University of Mumbai from 1st August to 3rd August, 2017. The Tournament was inaugurated by the hands of Prof. Prashant Shinde, Inchagre Principal Anna Leela College, and Mr. Prakash More CAO Bunts Sanghas Higher Education Intuitions & Prof. Uttam Kendre Director of Physical Education & Sports University of Mumbai. Inter-Collegiate Womens Individual Chess Championship was conducted at Anna Leela College of Commerce Economics & Shobha Jayaram Shetty College for BMS from 1st August Onwards Total 72 Colleges and 127. Womens Chess players participated. The Prizes were given by the hands of Shri Sajjandas Joshi, Fide Master and National Chess player in the presence of I/C Principal Prashant Shinde, Director U.K.S. College Dr. Krishna Shetty, Principal R.P.H. College Ms. Sanyogita Morarji & Mr. Manoj Verma Asst. Director Physical Education & Sports Bunts Sanghas Higher Education Intuitions.
