DEPARTMENT OF LIFELONG LEARNING AND EXTENSION (DLLE)

ABOUT DLLE:

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension established in our college in 2014, to sensitize students with socio-cultural responsibilities, the department offers students, extension work projects covering social issues. Degree college student participate in various opportunities provided by DLLE. Students are encouraged by adding 10 additional marks in the total marks and Certificate from University of Mumbai after completion of 120 hours of work. Students need to submit the report of their 120 hours work in the form of project.

DLLE offers enduring educational opportunities to the interested and deprived students by providing them various platforms to excel. As a well-founded academic Department of the University of Mumbai, the Department is committed to inculcate highest values of life and understand grounded realities of society.

The college has started the extension services with a group of 27 students to make them socially aware and responsible. The aim of the extension education is the development of the students academically and practically.

AIM:

The Dimension of Extension is aimed at promoting a meaningful and sustained rapport between the College and the Community i.e., to have educational programs for a Social Change.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of Lifelong Learning and Extension are outlined below for making education relevant to real life situations:

  • To act as a focal agency in the College system for all Lifelong Learning programmes and to provide academic and technical resource support for community based activities.
  • To serve as an intellectual intervention in the community’s living problems which need to be overcome through an educational process.
  • To develop among students a sense of responsibility towards society.
  • To design programs that will help students to face life and its challenges and thus create an ambience for a learning society.
  • To deepen the teachers’ and students’ knowledge through a wider exposure to real life situations through a variety of programs.
  • To prepare students for a greater social commitment.
  • To enhance student employability skills
  • To cater to the needs of the unreached for promoting knowledge based society.
  • To network with Governmental and Non-governmental agencies, international organizations as well as industries.
