Experiential Learning
To provide students better understanding about the subjects, the faculties of BMS used various experiential learning methods like case study, role play, in basket exercise and project work. The learning is also facilitated by various guest lectures, filed trips and industrial visits.
Orientation Program
An orientation programme is organized by the department of Management Studies. The programme is a holistic session which guided the students about the college premises, the physical facilities available, library, various committees, examination patter and career options available. The orientation programme was conducted for parents and students for their understanding towards the college and its working. The programme was conducted in the month of July 2023 for Second and Third Year students, while was conducted in August, 2023 for the first year students.
Two Day Workshop on Research for Students
To motivate students to conduct research and inculcate research culture amongst students, conducted a two day research workshop for the students. The workshop was conducted in the college premises. The resource person for the same were Dr. Roopa Rao, College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Dr. Meenakshi Gurav, D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dr. Anjali Puranik, J N Paliwala Commerce and Science College and Dr. Bhushan Langi, Satish Pradhan Dnyansadhna College. Day one of the workshop was focused on research in science and commerce field. Day two of the workshop was focused on Research in Science and Technology.
Seminar on ‘Crowded Café Empty Library’
To enhance the reading habits among the students and to make students understand about the importance of reading, the department organized a seminar on ‘Crowded Café Empty Library’ on 17th August, 2022.
The seminar was conducted by TED Talk Speaker, Mr. Amrut Deshmukh, The Booklet Guy. The students in the session were explained about the habit of reading and the importance of reading books. The students were also guided about social entrepreneurship. More than 150 students attended the same.
Movie Screening
A movie screening on the movie ‘Inside Out’ was organized by the department on 16th June, 2022. The main objective was to make students understand about emotional intelligence, technicalities in movie making, increase the engagement of the students and also to understand technicalities in writing a movie review.
Visit to Sanjay Gandhi National Park
A visit to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai, was organized on 6th January, 2023 by the department. 45 Students Participated in this visit. The main purpose of the visit was to provide students with experiential learning for the course of foundation course and to Conserve the country’s major representative ecosystems, unique natural and cultural heritage and give protection to the valuable and endangered wildlife species. The students learned to undertake simulation strategies for leadership and team building.
Field Visit to Vengaon (Karjat)
As a part of syllabus for the marketing students, department organized a field visit on 27th January, 2023 to Vengaon (Karjat). About 24 students took part in the visit. The outcome of the visit gave an opportunity to the students to have first-hand experience by conducting survey. It also helped them to think critically and create a positive attitude towards appreciation for nature which helps to develop an understanding rural market from close.

Power Point Presentation Competition (21-22)
The Department of Management studies organized the Offline Power Point Competition related to ‘Success Stories Of Indian Start-Ups’ and ‘Online Shopping And Its Various Aspects’ in room no.415 for students on Thursday, 23 December, 2021.

The orientation was followed by an assessment test to facilitate bridge course.
EnvoVenture Activity
In order to create awareness about waste management and composting, e-poster making competition was organized in association with ISR (Institutional Social Responsibility Committee). All students used the posters and created awareness amongst people through social media platforms.

The students were explained about examination pattern, rules and regulations and various committees and activities of the college and department. The orientation was followed by an assessment test to facilitate bridge course.
With an objective to encourage students for environment protection, a field visit was held at Sanjay Gandhi National Park on 29th August, 2019. A total of 45 students and 3 faculties visited the park. In order to give exposure of planning & implementation to students, they were given an opportunity to manage the visit completely under the supervision of faculties.
Visit to Rural Area
A visit to Vengaon, Karjat was organized by the department in order to study the methods adapted for rural marketing and rural financing on 9th December, 2019. A total of 37 students and 4 faculty members visited the rural area. Students studied various brands and baking options available in rural market. Post visit students had a presentation and interactive session with the Principal, Dr, Padma Deshmukh.
Visit to SME
To provide an insight about practical application of theories, 40 students of FY/SY and TYBMS visited Rutu Foods, Thane on 28th February, 2020. The students were accompanied by three faculties. The students were welcomed and explained about Food industry, Production process and demand of the products, Investment details to start a food venture and expertise needed to run a successful food business. The visit was a good learning experience for the students.
Visit to RBI and NSE
A visit to RBI and NSE was organized on 22nd January, 2020. A total of 25 students from SYBMS and TYBMS (Finance Specialization) along with 2 faculties visited RBI and NSE. The visit gave students an insight about the functioning of RBI and NSE.
Webinar on ‘Covid – 19 Implications on Business and Employment’
Department of BMS in association with Research Cell of the Anna Leela College and MUCTA organized a National Level webinar on ‘Covid-19 Implications on Business and Employment’ on 2nd May, 2020. The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Nitin Shetty, Founder and Managing Director of OTM Foods Pvt. Ltd. The webinar was attended by more than 2100 students and faculties across India. It has more than 4900 viewership on YouTube.
Orientation Program was organized for FY BMS students on 10th August, 2018. Mr. Sachin Pimple, BMS co-ordinator briefed the students about the college infrastructure and facilities, course details, examination pattern and various committees of the college.
Extensive and Intensive
Extensive and Intensive coaching was held for slow learners and advanced learners in the month of February 2019.
Industrial Visit – Rutu Foods, Thane
To provide an insight about practical application of theories, 40 students of FY/SY and TYBMS visited Rutu Foods, Thane on 11th February, 2019. The students were accompanied by Mr. Sachin Pimple, Ms. Mitali Sawant and Ms. Diti Shah.
Karjat Field Visit Report
Understanding of rural markets have become an important aspect of studies. To have a better understanding about rural markets, an educational visit was organized to Karjat. 30 Students from FY/SY.TY BMS, along with Mr. Sachin Puimple, Ms. Surekha Shetty and Mr. Subhash Senghale went for the educational visit on 21st January, 2019.
Women’s Day Celebration
The students of BMS took an initiative to celebrate International Women’s day in the college on 8th march, 2019. The female faculties and female students celebrated with great zeal.
ACTIVITIES UNDERENVOVENTURE1.TREKKING TO KARNALA FORT Going back to environment is very important for a heathy body, mind and soul. With the intention of providing a detox to students, Envoventure planned a trek to Karnala Fort.It was a one day trek organized on 12th September, 2018. 40 Students from BMS went for the trek. 3 professors also accompanied the students
2.CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS COMPOST – 2017 With an intention of clean and green city, Students of the Envoventure team collected theGanpatifestive waste and segregated the non-degradable and degradable waste. Envoventure team sent the collected Nirmalya to BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) for further processing. The total collection made was 1017 kg.
ACTIVITIES UNDER KNOWLEDGE CLUB
RESUME WRITING SESSION BMS Department Organized a Resume Writing Session on 22nd January, 2018. 70 TY students from all the departments attended the session. Ms. Rashmi Nayak, Business Manager IIPR conducted the session.
FIELD VISIT TO MAHALAXMI SARAS With an intention to impart practical knowhow of group funding and functioning of self-help groups, SY BMS students (finance specialization) visited MahalaxmiSaras, an exhibition organized by N.A.B.A.R.D. The visit was on 25th January, 2018. Finance faculties from BMS accompanied students to provide them required guidance.
3.UNION BUDGET (2018 19) DISCUSSION SESSION Union Budget (2018 19) discussion session was organized by BMS department on 14th February, 2018. Highlight of this session was the discussion and analysis which was done by students of all the departments. Twenty five student participants presented the budget and its impact on development of India.
ENVOVENTUREThe name “˜EnvoVenture is a fusion of two words “Environment ” and “Adventure” which enables to foster awareness and knowledge about environment, “˜Go Green concept and to instill an environmental ethic in allparticipants through adventurous activities.
This club aims to provide every learner an understanding towards their contribution to the environment, nature conservation, the power of working collaboratively, and their interconnectedness with all living things. Through this club, students explore on how to use adventure activities such as backpacking, trekking, hiking etc as tools to make environmental learning an adventure and an instruction tool through its fun filled activities.

KNOWLEDGE CLUBKnowledge Club is aninitiative designed to stimulate activities, impart knowledge, enhance and improve speaking, marketing, presentation and leadership skills in a safe and fun environment. It creates an opportunity for knowledge sharingand transfer, bringing together those with common interests through a number of activities and competitions. These competitions cover a number of key areas such as marketing, finance, R&D, business and technologydevelopment and funding which helps in applying their theoretical knowledge in practicality.

INSIGHT
At the end of every semester, the BMS journal, ‘Insight’ is published which is a truly literary & creative document of the talents of the BMS students. The journal committee is composed of the chief editor, convener, departmental head, committee members & students in-charge. It also provides a panoramic view of the academic, activities & achievements of the BMS students during that particular semester.
