Department of Information Technology
The department of information Technology strives for the overall development of students by providing them skill based opportunities for learning. Department not only offers a platform for enriching knowledge but also encourages them to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through an IT club –CODEX there by living up to its motto “Progress through Knowledge”.
Activities (2022-23):
- F. Y.B.Sc.IT Revised Syllabus Workshop on 19th July 2022.workshop was organized in association with University of Mumbai. The objective of the seminar was to make all the faculty members aware about changed subjects. Respective resource person guided all the faculties about theory and practical’s.
- The Department of Information Technology had organized a seminar on “Industrial Applications of Data Science” on 10th August, 2022 for Sc.ITstudents, Mr.Swapnil Desai working as Data Scientist at Nomura, was the guest speaker of the session. 167 students attended the seminar,The session was mainly focused on:
- Importance of Data Science.
- Various areas under Data Science for e.g. (Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning).
- Practical demonstration using Jupyter IDE.
- Various Job Profiles for Freshers.
- Apart from the above mentioned points Mr.Swapnil also imparted knowledge of corporate life, about working skills and answered the doubts among the students
- Roadmap to Data Science & Data Engineering Session was organized on 1st December 2022, the session was mainly focused on importance of data science and various job profiles for data science and various areas under Data Science. (Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Machine Learning). Mr. Kaustubha Panchal was the guest speaker for the session.
- Department of Information Technology has organized a field visit to Arena Animation, Media and Entertainment training institute, Chembur east on 16th December 2022 and 17th December 2022.The purpose of the visit was to provide students with the knowledge of various graphics Animation, visual effects and Multimedia programs: Students were given practical exposure about animation. Total 70 students were part of Field visit.
- Department of Information Technology had organized an IT Quiz Competition under IT-Codex Club. The event was managed by students of TYBSCIT on October 3rd & 4th, 2022. The quiz was conducted in two rounds. The first round was qualification round. In total there were 7 teams out of which 5 teams was qualified for second main round.
- The quiz competition was consisting of objective types questions and visual type questions from BSC IT syllabus. All the teams played with utmost enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The certificate was awarded to all the participants.
- On 29th April 2023, Department had the privilege of hosting a guest speaker lecture for BSc-IT 3rd year students. The guest speaker was an expert in the field of PGIS (Principal of Geographic Information System) and provided valuable insights on the topic, and the speaker covered several key points during the lecture.

The IT department organized a quiz competition under IT Codex Club. The event is for the students by the students. Event was managed by students of TYBSCIT on January 5, 2022. FYBSCIT and SYBSCIT students participated in the event.

- IT Quiz Competition:
Department of Information Technologyhadorganized an IT Quiz Competition under IT-Codex Club.The event was managed by students of TYBSCIT on 19th and 20th August, 2019. The quiz was conducted in two rounds. The first round was qualification round which was held on 19th August 2019. There were total 14 teams participated in qualification round. After first round 10 teams got qualified for second round. The second round was conducted on 20th August.
The quiz competition was consisting of objective types questions and visual type questions from BSC IT syllabus. All the teams played with utmost enthusiasm and competitive spirit. There were audience questions too which were played by audience very interestingly. The winning team was awarded by pen drive (16 GB), the second prize was the earphones and the third prize an OTG extension. The certificate was awarded to all the participants.
- A Seminar on Ethical Hacking
Department of Information Technology had organised a seminar on ethical hacking on 1st February 2020. Mr DurgeshVishwakarma, IT security expert from Jetking Institute was the resource person for the seminar. Mr. Durgesh introduced students with the basics of Ethical Hacking techniques and also demonstrated different practical cases of ethical hacking. Students gained knowledge and skill of ethical hacking concepts which they can confidently use during their future interviews particularly in IT security. Total 45 students from B.Sc. I.T. courseparticipated in thisseminar. The knowledge imparted by the resource person during the seminar was greatly beneficial to the students of information Technology.
- CBAT
Department of Information Technology had organized Career Base Aptitude Test on 3rd March 2020 in association with LIVE WIRE India. Around 120 students from all three years of BSC IT Course participated in the test. A computer-based selection test score is used for selection of all Officer/NCO/Aircrew applicants. The test contains linguistics aptitude, general knowledge, mathematical and analytical aptitude and Computer based skill aptitude objective types questions.
Mr. Yash Kokane was the facilitator from the LiveWire India who along with Faculties of department conducted this aptitude test in three computer labs.
- IOT with Arduino Workshop
The IT department had organized Arduino and IOT Hand-on Workshop under IT-Codex Club on 5th March 2020. Professor Manoj Kavedia(M.E in Electronics) was the resource person for this workshop. He has 24+ years of experience in the field of electronics. During the workshop he demonstrated several IoT projects including Interfacing LED BUZZER, interfacing humidity, temperature and touch sensors and using them to build anapplication, USB Controlling and Bluetooth Controlling with Blynk.Students performed all these practical projects during this workshop. The experience of being familiar with computing hardware and sensors was highly beneficial for BSC IT course students.
- National Level Online Quiz Competition
Department of Information Technology had organized three days National Level IT quiz competition from 19th May 2020 to 21st May 2020. The participants were from Gujarat Karnataka, Punjab, West Bengal, Telangana and Maharashtra. The participation was also received from Central Africa.Total 2100 entries were received as participants across the country and out of which 1310 successfully cleared the quiz. The E-certificate was awarded to all the qualified participants.
Activities (2018-19):
- IT Quiz Competition:
On 11th September 2018, IT QUIZ COMPETITION’I8 was held at Anna Leela College of Eonomics&ShobhaJayaram Shetty College for BMS. The event was proudly organized by TYBSC IT students of Information Technology Department. The major sponsor for the entire event was ‘3T India Tourism’. The key objective of the competition was to empower students to discover the world of IT and to enable them to apply their lessons from classroom to a real world along with the spirit of competition.
IT Quiz Competition Witnessed Enthusiastic Preparation and Participation of students. Total 10 teams from FYBSC IT and SYBSC IT were there. Each team comprise of three participants. The completion started by reading out the rules and regulations to all the participants. It was interesting Four-round competition including objectives as well as visual questions related to basic IT concepts and covering major BSC IT syllabus topics. The students highlighted their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions though some of the questions were tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence without passing any of the the question to the next team. There was also a special quiz for the audience, which they enjoyed at the most.
